About Morningcider

Inspired to make Morningside a better place to live (and by the love of a cheeky pun) two cider barons and one baroness decided to make what some consider to be the most bad-ass cider in the land.

From the neighbourhood that always looks on the bright cider life, we’ve found the in-cider information on juicing those local apples into something very a-peel-ing. From cheeky puns right through to our tasty drops...

THIS IS HOW WE LIKE 'DEM APPLES.

So who's the gang?

Tim Shallard,is a Morningside local through and through. Previously Tim was a part-time pastor and postgraduate theology student, before trying his hand at making cider. Tim is both co-director and GM of Morningcider, Side Hustle and Phat Philly’s and is also on the board of the NZ Fruit Wine & Cider Association. He can usually be found in Side Hustle, so pop in, say hi and try a selection of what Morningcider has to offer.

Nigel Cottle has spent the last 16 years trying to make Morningside a better place to live and work. He's all about good food, wine and coffee. He is the driver behind Crave Cafe, KIND Morningside and Common Good Coffee North, alongside his role as co-director of the Morningcider Group. He is also a Senior Judge at the NZ Cider Awards and a NZ wine judge.

Louise Giles is a Morningside local, also having lived or worked in 'the hood for over 15 years. Lou owns Husk, the brand design agency behind the Crave, Kind and Morningcider brands and brings her marketing background and design know-how as a co-director of the Morningcider Group. A serial entrepreneur (also involved in  property, accommodation, event management and coaching), Lou is Mum to two teenage man-children and has a penchant for volkswagens, rap, spelling and donuts.
